Santisuk, which means peace in Thai, goes on patrol with the police each day.
The force believe Santisuk helps improve their image and relations with the local population in a troubled province.
Separatists are blamed for most of the attacks on Thailand?s predominantly Muslim deep south, and often target Buddhists and Muslims associated with the Thai state, such as police, soldiers, government officials and teachers.
