Pictured above are some of this year's entries in the light micro photography contest held by Olympus.the beauty of the natural world.
The top image is a "fairy fly" wasp that is only 1/25th the size of an ant. Below that is a bladderwort, which looks to me like it is ingesting a ??mosquito larva? Below that is Triochodina pediculus (a freshwater protist), and on the bottom seeds of Aurinia (of the familiar alyssum family that we have by our front porch).
